Lightweight and incredibly strong, they are ideal for sport and fashion.
Polarised TAC Lenses - Bronze
There are 7 layers that make up TAC ( Tri Acetate Cellulose ) lenses. The first is a polarising layer that provides 100% polarisation that absorbs glare. The second and third layer allows durability that resists harsh environments. The fourth and fifth are UV absorbing layers that absorb over 99% ultraviolet rays. The last two layers, are shock proof layers that increase impact and scratch resistance.Handmade in Japan

G15 Lenses
Originally developed by Bausch & Lomb in the 1930s, G15 lenses were developed for pilots during World War II. They now provide high performance in bright conditions with a more economical price than polarised lenses
The “G” in G-15 refers to a green tint of the lens. The “15” means that the lenses only allow 15% of light to pass through. Therefore, G15 lenses have a gray/green tint and block 85% of visible light and most G15 lenses will block at least 99% of UV radiation.
Since the G-15 lens was developed for pilots, they’re good against a blue backgrounds. The gray/green tint helps to increase visual clarity and definition in environments saturated with blue light. Since G-15 lenses allow 15% of visible light to pass through, they may not be the best option for full sun. However, where other lenses that block a higher percentage of visible light are too dark ( i.e. low-light or overcast situations), G-15 lenses excel. If you find that your sunglasses are simply too dark for the environments you find yourself in, G-15 lenses may be the answer.
Pilots still use G15 lenses today, as opposed to polarised options. This is because polarised lenses can actually get in the way of viewing important LCD instruments, so they are ideal for those who rely on LCD instruments for their safety.
